1966 Convertible - the ongoing story
Nov. Dec. 2006 Jan. Feb. July Dec. 2007 Jan Dec

Dec, 2006
- Well after a successful football season, it's time to get back to work. Both boys played football, so pretty much 6 days a week involved some type of sports.
The inner rockers are bolted in for a test fit, then spot welded... a lot of spot welds. The new rockers have a couple of idiocyncracies. The originals taper in the rear where the rear torque boxes are attached. Also, the old rockers were about a quarter of an inch wider than the new ones. This will require some mods at the rear toque boxes to extend the the attachment points. The seat support is left in and temporarily screwed to teh rocker to maintain dimensions.

Dec 28 - The new rockers are welded in place. The floor has been cut away to reveal the subframe brace... there's more of this one than the left side! The transmission crossover brace is in good shape thanks to being covered in oil/tranny fluid. Time to drill out more spot welds where the floor subframe meets the forward frame.
Happy New Year! On to Jan.
