- Happy New Year! Before one can weld in new torque boxes, the new frame rails must be installed since the torque box covers the spot welds. Here is the prepped subframe dry fit to note spot weld locations.. Since the seat support, upper and lower are still in place, I had to notch an eighth of an inch on the front of the subframe to get it in place. The spot welds are marked and the locations drilled out. Time for more welding next weekend hopefully... but its little league season and tryouts are next weekend.
February 2007 - The passenger torque box is finally in. Lesson learned - install the torque box before installing the inside rockers if possible. Unfortunately, I think that this car needed the support of the rockers before the torque boxes could be installed. The torque box had to be taken apart and re-welded. Bummer.
March - June 2007 - Little League season. It was a good season, finishing 3rd. Now I have Lab Puppies residing in half my garage... that means no work until they are sold. We started with 9, there are 4 left, so hopefully work will begin again in a week or so.
More to Come!
